The Assistant Director of Construction & Capital Projects will oversee the construction and renovation of all city and school buildings in Watertown. This role involves ensuring that the city's interests are represented throughout the construction process, requiring a blend of professional and administrative skills in construction management.

  • Oversee the construction and renovation of city and school buildings.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, codes, and standards relating to construction.
  • Represent the city's best interests in all construction projects.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets effectively.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders including contractors, architects, and city officials.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, facilities management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in design and construction management/administration or a related field.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, policies, codes, and standards relating to construction, construction safety, and ADA compliance.
  • Massachusetts Class D driver's license is required.
  • Massachusetts Construction Supervisor's License and/or Professional Engineering (PE) license.
