About The Position

This full-time position provides clinical and operational leadership in the planning, development, and oversight of a comprehensive counseling program for child victims of abuse and their non-offending family members. The Assistant Director ensures delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, and evidence-based services, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) . This role supports staff development, promotes clinical excellence, and ensures alignment with ethical, legal, and multidisciplinary team standards.

Requirements

  • Candidate must hold a graduate degree in a mental health field.
  • Must hold a current Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) in good standing or be eligible for LPC-S licensure and willing to meet all requirements to obtain it within a specified timeframe.
  • 5 years professional experience in services for abused children.
  • 2 years experience supervising therapists and/or interns.
  • Thorough knowledge of child sexual/physical abuse dynamics.
  • Play, adolescent, family, & group therapy experience.
  • Knowledge of law enforcement, CPS, DA’s Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in court testimony preferred.
  • Bilingual a plus

Responsibilities

  • Staff Supervision & Development Provide board-approved clinical supervision to licensed clinicians, associates, and graduate interns
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing professional development of clinical staff
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations, goal setting, and coaching to enhance clinical growth
  • Mentor clinicians in the implementation of trauma-informed and evidence-based treatment models, including TF-CBT and EMDR
  • Foster a culture of reflective supervision, accountability, and continuous learning
  • Monitor quality of clinical performance, including review of documentation and service delivery
  • Clinical Leadership & Program Oversight Support the Director of Clinical Services in strategic planning, program development, and daily clinical operations
  • Assist in oversight of all clinical programming to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices
  • Promote and support implementation of evidence-based trauma treatments, including TF-CBT and EMDR
  • Ensure trauma-informed care principles are integrated across all services
  • Provide clinical consultation and guidance to staff and MDT partners
  • Engage in program evaluation and continuous quality improvement efforts
  • Program Operations Assist in oversight of clinical intake, referrals, and service coordination
  • Support oversight and development of the Graduate Intern Program
  • Work closely with universities to ensure compliance with practicum and internship requirements
  • Maintain compliance with all licensing board requirements, ethical standards, and organizational policies
  • Assist with general center operations and administrative responsibilities as needed
  • Clinical Services & Direct Care Provide individual, family, group, and play therapy as needed
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments and support treatment planning
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization for children and families
  • Support client transition from forensic services into therapeutic care
  • Assist in preparing clients and caregivers for court involvement when necessary
  • Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Collaboration Participate in weekly case review and staffing meetings
  • Provide clinical insight regarding client needs, progress, and treatment recommendations
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, CPS, prosecution, and community partners
  • Ensure clinical services align with MDT goals and coordinated care practices
  • Training & Community Engagement Provide training to staff, MDT partners, and community members on trauma, abuse dynamics, and treatment approaches
  • Support internal training initiatives focused on evidence-based and trauma-informed practices
  • Provide consultation regarding culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate care
  • Participate in community presentations as assigned
  • Other Responsibilities Work between Denton and Lewisville offices as needed
  • Maintain standards of the BHEC Licensing Board and all applicable ethical guidelines
  • Participate in all required supervision and licensing requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
