About The Position

The National Special Programs Budget and Grant Director will be responsible for overseeing the wellbeing of Special Programs and the attainment of district goals by providing organizational assistance. National Special Programs Budget and Grants Assistant Director will manage a Special Program Business Intern, as well as will lead by influence national team members, regional directors, and clerks on a year-round calendar basis. National Special Programs Budget and Grants Assistant Director will serve as a financial steward for all financial business, budget planning, contracts, ensuring the process and timeline are followed and in compliance with federal and state requirements.

Requirements

  • Required Education: bachelor’s degree
  • Years of Experience: at least 5 years of experience in a finance and accounting role, or similar
  • Required Technology: high level of proficiency with Office 365 suite

  • Preferred Education: master’s degree
  • Certifications: Finance Certifications preferred, but not required
  • Preferred Experience: supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the contract process for over 80 contracts for the entire Special Programs team to include all contract services, such as: vendor review and support, scope of work creation, cost negotiation, compliance, onboarding and support of each contract through IDEA’s internal contract procurement process.
  • Manage budget planning processes and proforma projections, as well as monitor budget for all Special Programs leaders with a budget of over $18 MM across Texas.
  • Works with IDEA Business office partners and regional directors to appropriately distribute and manage incoming SHARS funds and oversee spending at national and regional levels.
  • Follows EDGAR guidelines for the Request For Proposal (RFP) or Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process to ensure bids are submitted, committee is formed, and bid is awarded effectively
  • Serve as a member of Grant Ed’ by fulfilling 100% of team commitments for attendance including quarterly professional development sessions to support grant managers, bi-weekly check-ins, review of communications (emails, phone prep, APR, etc.) to department prior to submission, appropriate and timely record-keeping and partnership and coordination with evaluation teams.
  • Develop Resources and Professional Development on Special Programs Budget and Grant Processes and Procedures
  • Provide onboarding, in field coaching, and continued professional development for their SP Business Intern to ensure they are up to date on processes and procedures to keep district in compliance with all regulations.
