About The Position

Assistant Director of Advancement, Corporate and Foundation Relations Children’s Museum of Atlanta Department: Strategic Advancement Reports to: Director of Strategic Advancement Position Status: Full Time/Exempt/Salary Primary Role: Responsible for assisting the Strategic Advancement Department in fulfilling annual corporate, foundation and government fundraising goals in support of annual operations, special projects, restricted programs, capital campaigns. Primary responsibilities include supervising grant manager; grant writing and reporting; researching, identification, and solicitation of corporate, foundation, and government grants.

  • Knowledge of fundraising information sources
  • Experience with institutional donors
  • Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies
  • Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research
  • Knowledge and familiarity with donor moves management
  • Strong contributor in team environments
  • Ability to develop and maintain good donor relations
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of CRM Softwares, Blackbaud preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Participation in professional seminars and or continuing education that directly relates to job requirements

Responsibilities

  • Work with Director of Strategic Advancement to identify funding opportunities and create annual grants budget bringing in $1M a year
  • Manage a portfolio of sponsorship and funding prospects
  • Research new opportunities for funding through foundation, corporate, and government revenue streams and partnerships
  • Prepare leadership team for meetings as needed
  • Attend prospective donor meetings, Museum programs and community events, as appropriate
  • Develop and write appeals and proposals
  • Work collaboratively with key staff to determine solicitation strategies
  • Maintain a pipeline of proposals
  • Fulfill grant-reporting requirements as assigned
  • Participate in Board-led committees as appropriate
  • Work with key staff to develop annual work plan
  • Provide weekly dashboard status report to Director of Strategic Advancement
  • Maximize database capabilities to ensure that all corporate, foundation, and government grantors and prospects (including communications) are properly identified in digital (Altru/FE NXT) and paper files. Training available
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Strategic Advancement
  • Assist with special events as needed
