About The Position

The Assistant Director of Admissions (AD) at Berklee College of Music plays a vital role in leading a regional team to achieve targeted enrollment objectives. Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions, the AD is responsible for sustaining healthy enrollment levels and generating revenue for the institution. This position requires a deep understanding of various programs offered to prospective students and involves extensive travel, counseling services, and participation in recruitment initiatives and college-sponsored events.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of experience in college admissions/recruitment, sales, and customer service.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong commitment to prospective student servicing.
  • Specialized skills and experience in Berklee-specific student experiences and programs.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Musical background and understanding of the music business industry and music theory.
  • Knowledge of career counseling principles and procedures.
  • Familiarity with current technologies such as MS Suite, Keynote, Filemaker, Salesforce, and social networking platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a regional team focusing on targeted enrollment objectives.
  • Provide counseling services to applicants and prospective students.
  • Implement and maintain recruitment initiatives supporting the Comprehensive Enrollment Strategy.
  • Manage special recruitment projects and participate in college-sponsored events.
  • Conduct one-on-one admissions interviews and evaluate applicants' suitability for Berklee.
  • Plan and implement recruitment activities within the designated region.
  • Travel independently for high school, college, and education fair visits.
  • Develop relationships with music educators and performing arts high schools to recruit talented prospects.
  • Represent the college at various recruitment events and complete necessary reports.
  • Mentor and train Alumni and Student Ambassadors for the admissions interview process.
  • Review completed applicant files as a member of the Board of Admissions.
  • Counsel students and families regarding admissions eligibility and financial aid information.
