The Assistant Director of Academic Advising and Retention, Progression & Completion is a leadership position in the advising center whose role is to help with the development and execution of programs directed towards advising, retaining and graduating students while helping the Associate Director and Director oversee the general management of the advising center. Additionally, this position will oversee advising projects/initiatives as determined by campus leadership. This position will advise a caseload of undergraduate students within the college and be responsible for knowing all related University, College and Departmental policies, procedures and curriculum. The position will coordinate all RPC initiatives which include creating a year-long strategic plan with specific RPC projects - this includes, but is not limited to, short-term and long-term tracking of students’ academic progress and designing experiences (programs, support initiatives, etc.) for at-risk and special populations. This position plays a critical role in helping identify barriers to student success and is charged with development/implementation of differentiated care solutions and targeted support programming/initiatives. Additionally, this position will oversee programs designed to increase student retention, this may include but is not limited to the Urban Ambassador - Peer Mentoring program. The Assistant Director will have supervisory responsibilities and assume responsibilities of the Associate Director and/or Director in their absence.
