The Assistant Director will support the MFA Director's vision while overseeing MFA admissions and operations and building and managing relationships with students, faculty, and creative advisors. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for the planning and execution of in-person residencies at the beginning of each semester and will play a key role in the production of the biannual Festival of Jewish Storytelling, a series of evening events that JTS will host in conjunction with MFA residencies. In addition to being actively engaged and well-connected with trends in Jewish writing and the literary field at large, a successful candidate will bring the ability to manage relationships between well-known writers and students with grace, an investment in building a strong community of artists, a commitment to operations running smoothly, and an understanding of the unique needs of a low-residency program.
