In-Person and On-Site Directs and implements all activities related to IT and telecommunications for the Agency. Reports to the Director of Information Technology. Essential functions Technology development (60%): provides IT support to all Bay Aging users, its hardware 10 VMWare virtual file servers, (300 PCs, 100 tablets, 60 smartphones) and its network across 10 locati0ns; Develops and maintains the IT infrastructure; ensures data security and stability of network. Special projects (30%): establish IT requirements for Agency’s projects; identifies appropriate vendors and selects contractors; monitors and supports implementation. Leadership Team (10%): Attend monthly LT meetings; provides IT expertise for new initiatives and grant applications. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Employs extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a wide variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of 3 IT Technicians. Responsible for $244,000 annual operating budget. Decision making- Handles all daily responsibilities relative to the IT operations independently. Informs supervisor in cases of change of IT service providers and major changes in software or IT infrastructure. Works closely with supervisor when considering capital investment or major expenditures. Working knowledge of: Server Virtualization (VMware) Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 and Active Directory (AD) Implementation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting Domain Name System (DNS) All Phases of Microsoft Office 365 All phases of backup software to include Veritas, Veeam and Synology Veritas Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR) Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) Experience ManageEngine EndPoint Central Cybersecurity knowledge and assistance with oversight of the SilverSky Cybersecurity and Wide Area Network monitoring platforms FortiGate Firewalls and Routers and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) Wireless Networking, Access Points, and Related Security Configuration Skills Local Area/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) Connectivity Network, Mobile Device, and Remote Connectivity and End User Security Local/Wide Area Networking, and Firewall Security Implementation, Maintenance and Monitoring Telephony (Landline & VOIP) and Data Communications (Datacom) Experience Smartphone/Tablet Setup and Troubleshooting Experience Microsoft Windows 11 Managed Services Provider (MSP) implementation, monitoring and ongoing maintenance-includes Microsoft and other third-party security patch deployment Helpdesk and remote troubleshooting Hardware and printer “break fix” experience Virtual Server prep and installation experience Workstation prep and installation experience Malware and virus diagnostic and removal skills Hands-on experience of LAN and WAN connectivity and development TeamViewer, Splashtop, and other remote-control software Ability to: Work in and away from the office, including in the evening and occasionally on weekends. Occasional overnight travel is required. Work methodically and patiently with limited resources and support. Learn and stay current on a wide variety of concepts and tools in a field that is constantly evolving. Work with a variety of users with different IT needs and knowledge. WORKING ENVIRONMENT Office-based position with minimal physical requirements (ability to lift 15lbs, walking and climbing stairs). Requires regular independent travel around the area served by Bay Aging. 90% of the essential functions of the position can be performed virtually. Qualifications Requires a degree preferably in IT and at least 10 years of experience in IT management and implementation. Familiar with a wide variety of the IT concepts and practices. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must possess all the relevant IT knowledge and experience to oversee and operate the existing platforms FLSA status: This is an exempt position.
