About The Position
The Assistant Director of Student Services at Manchester School District plays a crucial role in the management and oversight of the district's special education programs. This position is designed for an experienced professional who will assist the Executive Director for Student Services & Wellness in the daily operations of all district-side special education initiatives. The Assistant Director will be responsible for ensuring that all specialized programming is effectively implemented and that related service providers and itinerant positions are adequately supported. This role requires a deep understanding of special education laws, including Federal and State regulations, as well as the ADA and 504 Laws, to ensure compliance and best practices in service delivery. In this position, the Assistant Director will have direct responsibility for managing district-wide specialized programs and personnel. This includes developing and maintaining comprehensive records for all children receiving special services or enrolled in special classes. The Assistant Director will monitor staff caseloads and student progress, ensuring that all students receive the appropriate support and resources they need to succeed. Additionally, the role involves consulting with staff, parents, and outside agencies to discuss program offerings and address any concerns related to special education services. The Assistant Director will be a key advocate for students with special needs, working collaboratively with various stakeholders to enhance educational outcomes and promote inclusivity within the school district.
