About The Position

As the Assistant Director for Student Life and Intercultural Learning at WSU Vancouver, you will serve as a key leader, advancing the university’s mission to foster student engagement, leadership development, and inclusive campus experiences. You will provide strategic oversight and direction for the Center for Intercultural Learning and Affirmation, student activities, recreation, registered student organizations, and leadership programs through supervision of professional staff. In this role, you will cultivate a dynamic and supportive environment for student learning and personal growth through co-curricular involvement, leadership training, and intercultural engagement. You will be responsible for the planning, assessment, and facilitation of leadership development initiatives and managing the use and programming of key student spaces including the Center for Intercultural Learning and Affirmation, Firstenburg Student Commons, and campus recreation facilities. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with Student Affairs colleagues and campus partners to align student life initiatives with institutional enrollment and retention goals.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to student affairs and/or higher education and three (3) years of experience directly to student affairs, student activities, education, leadership development, event management, project management, program management, or similar.
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding issues and trends in higher education programs
