About The Position

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations, the Assistant Director for Recognition and Engagement will be responsible for managing and overseeing several key functions: Milestone Recognition programs, behavior based recognition programs, the Regents Society, the Lux Libertas Philanthropy Award, the annual Massey Distinguished Service awards, and other recognition programs that are currently, or may become, managed by the UDO Donor Relations team. This position will play a key and primary role in the acknowledgement and stewardship of our donors, particularly as it relates to recognition and engagement of the University's most loyal donors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
  • Excellent advanced knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to learn new software applications programs as required.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple, ongoing projects.
  • Position requires accuracy, attention to detail and editing skills.
  • The person in this position must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment and in a professional manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in a project management program is preferred.
