About The Position

The Assistant Director for Online Undergraduate Programs and Clinical Instructor of Nursing is a 12-month faculty position responsible for providing forward-thinking leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating online undergraduate programs in the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing (EMSON). In collaboration with the EMSON Executive Director and the Associate Director, the Assistant Director assists with development, implementation, and ongoing assessment of online LPN-BSN and RN-BSN program initiatives; provides oversight of online undergraduate curriculum and didactic and clinical practicum experiences; serves as the first line of administrative contact for escalated student concerns within the online undergraduate programs; provides support to online undergraduate faculty and assists with course assignments; and supports the program in maintaining compliance with accrediting and regulatory bodies. The Assistant Director provides oversight for monthly academic program committee meetings and brings forward issues to the EMSON faculty through the shared governance model for review and approval. The Assistant Director reports to the Executive Director of EMSON. Consistent on-campus presence is required, and active in-person engagement in departmental and college life is an essential function of this position. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Earned master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment
  • An unencumbered Arkansas registered nurse (RN) license or eligibility for State of Arkansas licensure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with students, staff, and faculty
  • Experience with inter-professional collaborative education, scholarship, and/or practice
  • At least five years of professional nursing experience
  • At least two years of nursing education experience
  • Eligible to hold an unencumbered RN license with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and secured by the first date of employment

Nice To Haves

  • DNP or PhD in nursing or related fields at the time of appointment from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Demonstrated leadership role or experiences
  • Prior relationships with community partners and school of nursing stakeholders
