About The Position

The Office of Student Accountability & Conflict Response is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Director for Investigations . This position plays a critical role in upholding the integrity and safety of the university community by leading and coordinating investigations into allegations of misconduct by individuals and student organizations across the Commonwealth. In addition to investigations, this position is responsible for implementing and overseeing the university-wide Conduct Review program. This full-time position is located at the University Park campus. This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • Experience in investigations and/or student conduct.
  • Capacity to work cooperatively with various levels of faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
  • Ability to take initiative and have flexibility to adapt to shifting workload demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, judgment, ethical decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist people in crisis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with trauma-informed investigations is a plus.
  • Those with additional experience in lieu of a degree are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Complete thorough investigations for alleged violations, including hazing, physical assault, and other serious misconduct, by conducting interviews, identifying and collecting evidence, and preparing comprehensive and unbiased investigative reports.
  • Maintain confidential records and track case progress for the investigations team to ensure timely completion of investigations and reviews, in alignment with university policies and state and federal law.
  • Provide support and leadership to other staff tasked with investigatory duties in the Student Accountability & Conflict Response office.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Sexual Misconduct Reporting and Response, the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life, Student Leadership & Involvement, University Police, other campus offices, and local law enforcement to investigate potential student organization violations.
  • Complete Conduct Reviews by reviewing reports and self-disclosures of past misconduct, conducting background interviews, and making recommendations regarding eligibility for enrollment.
  • Serve as a case manager for individual student misconduct cases, as needed.
