The Assistant Director for Global Education is a professional leadership position in the Global Education unit of the Office of Global Engagement at the University of Georgia. The Assistant Director serves UGA students, faculty, staff, and administrators in matters related to education abroad. Responsibilities of the position include the creation of experiences, program promotion, managing student enrollment, budgets, contracts and agreements, and reporting to different stakeholders. Included in the portfolio of the Assistant Director is oversight of international independent experiences, special initiatives, and student learning outcomes assessment. The position focuses especially on promoting study abroad to a variety of student populations. The position also supports and supervises graduate assistant and other student staff. In addition to providing support to the advising team, the Assistant Director contributes to all student-facing programming, including advising services, pre-departure orientation, and reentry programming. The Assistant Director serves on the office's emergency response team and is a part of an on-call rotation system to respond to emergencies.
