About The Position

In partnership with the Director of Financial Aid, advise students on the financial aid process, determine financial aid eligibility, and package aid. Act on behalf of the Director of Financial Aid in his or her absence. Location: Valparaiso Pay Range: $49,000 - $53,000 Communicate financial aid information and opportunities available to students and prospective students at the College. Advise students (both on and off campus) on the financial aid process and assist with the completion of forms. Coordinate campus scholarship programs. Collect and review verification documents for financial aid files Develop and implement financial aid workshops. Be proficient in Banner Software. Determine financial aid eligibility and package aid. Monitor and enforce Standards of Progress. Conduct all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Maintain student financial aid files. Process financial aid information forms for external agencies. Counsel students on the loan process. Serve as a representative of the office at open houses and other college events. Assist office with training staff. Demonstrated knowledge of veterans’ education benefits and related regulations. The above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business discipline or public administration
  • Minimum of three years of financial aid experience and one year of supervisory experience required
  • Positivity, creativity, flexibility in working schedule. (Ability to work days and some evenings) focused on student support and success
  • Fully supports the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives
  • Official copies of transcripts required during pre-hire process

  • Experience with financial aid information systems preferred
