About The Position

Arts & Science is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director, Faculty Affairs to join the Human Resources Team. The Assistant Director primarily manages a variety of faculty related administrative processes, including the annual merit increase process, as well as the faculty leaves and sabbaticals. Develop strategies for managing and reporting data related to faculty appointments, both academic and administrative. Review the Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Commitment disclosures for faculty and recommend approval or other courses of action to Deans. Develop, implement, and disseminate various Arts & Science and University policies, procedures and guidelines, while also updating policies, forms and procedures to ensure faculty affairs processes are streamlined and efficient.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5+ years relevant professional level experience developing, analyzing and interpreting faculty policies at the university level.
  • Experience in strategic organizational planning and resolving complex faculty policy-related issues.
  • Experience administering budgets and staff supervision or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills with an orientation toward legal issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate solutions to complex and/or sensitive problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with mainframe information systems such as human resources management systems.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of USD $85,000.00 to USD $95,000.00.
