About The Position

Under supervision and direction from the Director of Employer Relations, conducts employer development activity and manages the execution of on-campus recruitment programs. This role emphasizes employer relationship building and the delivery of effective recruitment programs leading to successful hiring outcomes for NJIT students and employer partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in career services, campus recruiting, or employer relations.
  • Preferred experience working with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and university administrators.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and familiarity with career center technology (e.g., Handshake).
  • Excellent organizational, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director and employer relations team members to identify and reach new employer prospects with the goal of providing competitive opportunities to all NJIT students.
  • Regularly participate in meetings with new employer prospects, providing an overview of NJIT recruiting options and assisting them in planning for on-campus recruitment.
  • Assist in retaining the existing base of employers through the delivery of excellent customer service and continued follow-up.
  • Utilize the Handshake platform to maintain employer job postings, contact records, and relationship notes, contributing to strategic employer engagement efforts.
  • Facilitate company information sessions and special recruiting events on campus to maximize employer impact and student engagement.
  • Advise employers on how to structure and promote events that effectively communicate opportunities and align with student interests and talent needs.
  • Engage with academic departments and student organizations to develop collaborative and impactful events.
  • Enhance awareness and participation in information sessions and recruiting events, ensuring employer programs reach targeted student talent.
  • Drive employer engagement in the OCI program to connect NJIT talent with targeted internship, co-op, and full-time opportunities.
  • Build awareness of the OCI program for both student and employer audiences.
  • Coordinate key logistical aspects and provide high-quality customer service to ensure a seamless experience for employers and students.
  • Provide ad hoc advising, coaching, and occasional workshops to prepare students for successful job searches and interviews, including guidance on OCI participation and adherence to program guidelines.
  • Maintain relationships with select student professional organizations to support employer engagement and student participation in career development programs.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of office-wide initiatives, including Career Fairs, Networking Events, and other strategic engagement opportunities.
  • Aid in the collection of hiring outcomes from employers to support program reporting and strengthen employer-student connections.
  • Provide support at occasional evening or weekend events as needed.
