QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma/GED required, college hours preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in a licensed child care facility, early childhood or primary program. Possess management skills needed to maintain the day-to-day operation of a child care center, including supervision of caregivers. Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills; Strong computer skills. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Annual contract: 210 Days SALARY/PAYGRADE: $ 44,070 (Pay Grade IA 0) Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supervise the operation of the assigned Early Learning Center. Obtain a Texas Child Care Director’s License after employment if not already licensed. Train, coach, and direct staff members to ensure quality program implementation. Support the program staff in planning and preparing activity plans, as well as center events. Assist in the physical arrangement of each classroom to create an optimal learning environment. Assist in maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the center. Inspect and ensure that all classroom/outdoor supplies and equipment are in good working condition and are utilized properly. Assist in the implementation of the center's daily schedule and ensure that all aspects of the program are of high quality. Assist the Child Care Director in meeting or exceeding the standards of Texas Child Care Licensing. Assist in ensuring the operation of the center is in compliance with all CFISD standards. Complete all necessary paperwork for communication with the parents of the center, and provide positive communication with parents as appropriate. Serve as director in the absence of the Child Care Director. Assist the Child Care Director with managing human resource-related tasks pertaining to staff meetings, staff schedules, substitutes, absences/tardies, basic policies/procedures, and such. Provide regular, ongoing communication to the Child Care Director. Provide quality customer service. Provide input on the ELC budget. Provide input on department guidelines and procedures. Perform any and all other duties deemed necessary by the Child Care Director, Office of Community Programs,s and/or the Director of Community Programs. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function. WORKING CONDITIONS: Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Ability to sit on the floor. Tolerate moderate noise levels; work with frequent interruptions. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. All applications will be reviewed.
