The Athletics Department at Georgia State University is seeking to hire an Assistant Director of Development. This position will lead and drive the overall strategy for engagement and community building as part of an integrated external relations team. This includes full responsibility for the development, implementation, and assessment of programs, events, and services designed to increase donor engagement with the Athletics department. WHAT WILL YOU DO: The Assistant Director of Development manages and implements an annual fundraising campaign for the Athletics department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Manages and implements an annual fundraising campaign for the Athletics department. Annual fundraising campaign includes the creation and implementation of direct mail solicitations, managing the phone-a-thon programs, and Athletics' role in Georgia State's Giving Day.
  • Develops and manages a portfolio of major and minor gift prospects through the entire cycle of fundraising (identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship).
  • Establishes a core group of volunteers and oversees the performance and engagement of those volunteers - Panther Athletic Club Board.
  • Staffs all Athletics' Development engagement programs and regional events as needed and undertakes special assignments within Athletics as requested.
  • Works collaboratively with the Athletic Administrative Staff and Coaches, and University Advancement colleagues in support of fundraising initiatives. Utilizes appropriate University Advancement metrics and reporting processes. Monitors and objectively evaluates all fundraising appeals from the Athletics' Development department.
