We are seeking a motivated Assistant Director to help lead our school, support our teaching team, and ensure operational excellence. At The Learning Experience, we make early education joyful, engaging and fun so children are happy to learn, play and grow. Our curriculum focuses on the six ages and stages of early childhood development and engages children in hands-on learning activities that encourage them to explore and solve problems at their own rate of development. This forms a foundation for kids to Learn, Play and Grow under the care of our nurturing teachers and staff. At TLE®, we’ve created a full cast of characters that become our little learners’ educators, partners and friends through their preschool education journey. Each character has a unique personality and area of interest and brings learning to life by allowing children to explore the world through fun and imagination.

Requirements

  • Experience in early childhood education leadership, childcare administration, or preschool management
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of state licensing, staffing, and center operations
  • Passion for building strong teams and delivering excellent family experiences

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, creating a positive, professional, and supportive culture for staff and families
  • Ensure the center consistently meets Michigan licensing, health, and safety requirements
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing team of teachers and staff
  • Support and guide teachers in delivering a high-quality early childhood education program
  • Partner with the Center Director to drive enrollment, family satisfaction, and retention
  • Help manage daily operations including staffing, scheduling, payroll, and basic financial reporting
  • Conduct in-person and virtual tours for prospective families and represent the center at community events
