About The Position

The Assistant Director supports the daily essential operations of the applicable CDC location(s). Additionally, the position contributes to the successful instructional leadership, management, and internal processes of the center’s programs. The hours for this Century position are 7:30am-4:00pm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field, or an Associates Degree in Education or a related field may be eligible with appropriate coursework/experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working directly with children.
  • Must possess or obtain required state and federal clearances.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding leadership, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proper attendance is required. Employees are expected to arrive on time, every day, able and available to work.
  • May require travel to other centers within the county.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a teacher observation schedule that focuses on optimizing curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.
  • Regularly observe lead teachers during the instructional day.
  • Ensure the center’s compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and accreditations.
  • Positively communicate with parents and/or families regarding CDC policies, programs, and student achievement.
  • Create a weekly staff work schedule based on forecasted enrollment numbers that will ensure ratio guidelines are met at all times.
  • Learn, understand, and comply with operations of the center.
  • Learn and perform secretary duties as assigned.
  • Review, analyze, and take action on program data for CQI and fulfillment of school readiness goals.
  • Serve as a backup when Center Director is out or absent.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism when communicating with employees, families, etc.
  • Create and maintain a safe and nurturing culture that embodies the mission of the CDC organization.
  • Adhere to all CDC policies and procedures as set forth in the policy manual.
  • Other duties as assigned.
