About The Position

Plans and performs production of video and audio projects and related activities. Plans and performs activities related to the provision of webcasting services on campus. Supervises the division’s staff in the completion of projects. Specifies equipment and materials for the division. Provide day to day operational support to the Director, including the management of the department's operations in the Director's absence. Promotes the use of video, audio, webcasting, and lecture capture at the University for teaching, research and patient care activities. Performs administrative functions in the division, such as billing, budget reports and employee hiring, training and annual evaluations. Job Description Essential Functions Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Oversees and performs the recording and production of video and audio programs for teaching, patient care and education, research and other uses as needed. Participates in the production of project outlines and scripts, plans shooting schedules, supervises or performs video recording and post-production duties, contracts for needed outside services or equipment and assists professional and non-professional performers in presenting their material during recording. Responsible for webcasting, including resolving technical issues, the necessary training of staff providing support in these areas, troubleshooting and keeping up with the latest trends and advances in these areas. Provide day to day operational support to the Director, including the management of the department's operations in the Director's absence. Supervises the maintenance of appropriate records, and storing, cataloging, publicizing and issuance of finished products to users. Performs and / or supervises the maintenance of all the Video division’s equipment as well as actively assisting the Supervisor of AV Equipment Services in the maintenance and arranging for the repair of AV equipment on campus. Maintain familiarity with the department's administrative processes such as billing and monthly budget reviews, annual report and budget preparation, and provide support to the Director in this area as needed. Actively participate in meetings and projects related to classroom support, infrastructure improvement activities and special projects on campus and be ready to represent the department when needed. Improve interpersonal, presentation and technical skills as needed to accomplish this task. As a senior staff member, participates in working groups and project teams as needed. Other related duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • In depth knowledge and experience with video and audio production and post-production hardware and software, as well as webcasting, and advance AV and presentation equipment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Radio, TV, Film or Journalism.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional video and audio production, post-production and web-based conferencing experience, preferably in an instructional or educational setting.
