About The Position

Assist the Director of Admissions in providing staff supervision, clinical case consultation, coordination and organization of day-to-day activities, and administrative duties that will enhance effectiveness of the Admissions Department and Security to ensure smooth admissions processing for referral sources, families, staff and patients. This includes participation in the timely processing of inquiry/referral calls and walk-in/scheduled emergency psychiatric clinical assessments and ensure their referral to the most appropriate level of care. Administrator on call duties will be required on a rotational schedule.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in human service field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.) or RN (BSN Required).
  • 2 years experience in the Behavioral Health Leadership preferred.
  • CPR Certification.
  • CPI Certification (Can be obtained after hire).
  • Fully licensed in NC: RN, LCSW, or LCMHC.

  • Knowledge of developmental psychology and needs of various populations.
  • Knowledge of short term/acute care stabilization mental health treatment.
  • Knowledge of cognitive behavioral theory and systems theory.
  • Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
  • Knowledge of milieu management.
  • Knowledge of appropriate assessments, diagnoses, and interventions with patients.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with patients, family members, staff, and community personnel.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and high ethical standards.
  • Assessment skills for evaluating mental illness and substance abuse in child, adolescent, and adult populations.
  • Facilitation skills for leading process, psycho education, and multifamily groups.
  • Treatment skills for working with patients and their significant others on safety in one or two sessions.
  • Organizational and telephone skills for setting up aftercare appointments and placement.
  • Professional verbal and written skills for communicating patient status and treatment needs.
