About The Position

Dreamwear is a leading wholesale intimate apparel and sleepwear company that partners with brands such as Nautica, Juicy Couture, Danskin, Laura Ashley, and Nicole Miller. The Design team is responsible for establishing seasonal trends, colors, and style direction, creating apparel designs for internal and external presentations. They also manage and oversee the sample development and production process in conjunction with cross-functional partners. The Nautica brand, specifically, incorporates bold primary colors, mixed media, and classic designs inspired by nautical life, emphasizing comfort and versatility for an active lifestyle. The ideal candidate for an Assistant on this team will be passionate about working on a heritage brand, have a keen eye for trends, and possess strong multi-tasking abilities.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, & Microsoft Excel.
• Positive attitude and team player.
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Candidate must be passionate about fashion and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Fashion degree preferred.
• Internship experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research the market for seasonal trends, colors, prints and silhouettes to support the senior team.
• Responsible for sending out tech packs and sample requests, along with production artwork and color standards.
• Execute organized and accurate technical development packages that include construction details, sketches, fabrications, trims, print, and color details.
• Correspond with overseas factories regarding production.
• Assist designers with the trim and fabric library, color pallets, and flat sketching.
• Work with the senior team to make sure artwork is sized correctly and for choosing colors.
• Execute production packages including color and trim specifications and prepare production ready print and graphic artwork.
• Track and follow up on development and fabric sourcing.
