About the position

As an Assistant Designer for Women's Underwear at Calvin Klein, you will support the design team in creating innovative and appealing underwear collections. This role involves assisting in the design process, conducting research, and collaborating with various teams to ensure the designs align with the brand's vision and market trends. You will gain valuable experience in the fashion industry while contributing to the success of Calvin Klein's women's underwear line.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting research on fashion trends, fabrications, trims, and branding ideas relevant to women's underwear.
  • Partner with team members to create sketches, illustrations, and technical drawings for women's bra and panty designs.
  • Assist in sourcing and selecting appropriate fabrics and trims for underwear prototypes and production.
  • Support the design team in creating detailed tech packs and design specifications for underwear samples and production.
  • Participate in sample reviews and fittings, taking fit notes and updating technical sketches as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure flawless execution of underwear products.
  • Maintain the brand's design aesthetic and language in all women's underwear products.
  • Assist in preparing trend presentations and mood boards to inspire the design process.

Requirements

  • Entry level or related intern design experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Working technical garment construction knowledge.
  • Organized design archives and sample inventory.
  • Aesthetically keen eye for color, fabric, and style.
  • Proficient in hand/illustrator sketching and strong digital literacy.
  • Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other related software.
  • Ability to create and maintain tech packs in the Centric system.
  • Excellent communication and social skills.
  • Acute attention to detail throughout the product lifecycle.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with tech pack creation and management.
  • Familiarity with the Centric system for design documentation.
