About The Position

The company is seeking an Assistant Design Manager (ADM) to join its Design Management team within the North America Places group. This role is an excellent opportunity for recent college graduates aiming to grow into a Design Manager position through hands-on experience and professional development. The position is part of the Places Global Business Area (GBA), which focuses on shaping smart, safe, and sustainable environments across various sectors including Industrial & Logistics (intermodal terminals, data centers), Commercial, Retail, Residential, Defense, and Social Infrastructure (Arts, Sports, Healthcare, Education). This is an office-based position with flexible working hours, designed to provide career development opportunities. As an ADM, you will collaborate closely with experienced Design Managers and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to major project delivery and gaining exposure to architectural and engineering design excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related fields focused on the built environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and work with project teams using digital platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or Building Information Modeling (BIM).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and an interest in learning project scheduling tools.
  • Passion for sustainability and transformative solutions within urban or industrial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with internal architects, engineers, consultants, and project managers to support strategic objectives and project progress.
  • Assisting in the coordination of design deliverables across multiple disciplines for complex projects.
  • Supporting client meetings and responding to inquiries under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Learning to implement best practices in design delivery, including risk and change management, project setup, and planning using digital tools.
  • Preparing written reports, client presentations, and other deliverables while developing technical communication skills.
  • Supporting project management controls, resource optimization, and adherence to financial targets.
  • Assisting in the review of drawings, designs, and project scopes to develop execution plans.
