About The Position

MillerKnoll's Summer Internship Program is a paid, 12-week opportunity that provides a 100% real-world experience for students early in their careers. Throughout the summer you will apply academic learning to real-world situations and cultivate leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Design and Construction Project Manager Intern to join our collaborative and innovative team. This internship offers hands-on experience with the team that oversees the development of the MillerKnoll real estate portfolio, which includes retail, showroom and workplace projects. The ideal candidate is a creative and detail-oriented person and passionate about architectural design and development.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field
  • Must have a GPA of at least 3.0 (overall or within your program) to qualify for consideration in the Intern Program
  • Proactive, creative and detail-oriented individual
  • Strong software knowledge, including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and SketchUp
  • Confident and articulate, comfortable in presentation and client settings

Responsibilities

  • Attend design and construction weekly project meetings
  • Shadow project managers on construction sites
  • Assist in reviewing preliminary construction documents with project managers for intent and accuracy
  • Assist in collecting material samples to meet design intent and budget and collate for presentation
  • Assist in reviewing shop drawings
  • Assist in collating real estate site assessment documentation for review by the project team
  • Organize site due diligence documentation and extract main components for review
  • Support the creation of dashboards, reports, and visual tools to present insights
  • Assist in researching environmental construction methodologies and materials by leveraging the MillerKnoll sustainability team
  • Help build the archive of MillerKnoll architectural standards and construction materials
