About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Direct and manage employees and work processes during the night shift to provide leadership in maintaining a clean, organized, well-stocked grocery department. Supervisory responsibilities include all employees working in the store during the night shift.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Write and transmit orders for grocery products by reviewing past and projected sales to ensure adequate inventories are available to meet customer requirements. Direct the stocking of grocery orders to maintain stock levels that meet customer requirements and the sanitary and safety standards of the Company. Delegate work assignments in order to effectively utilize employees and supplies to maximize the store's profits. Provide training provided to department employees in order to reduce turnover, control labor costs, and improve productivity and department profitability. Implement merchandising plans using guidelines and suggestions from the grocery manager, merchandiser and buyer in order to meet the financial objectives of the department. Maintain processes and procedures to be followed by shift employees in order to meet sanitary, safety, and OSHA requirements. Direct and oversee receiving procedures to ensure accurate product is received, store sanitation requirements are met, and security is maintained. Develop and maintain communication processes with other departments in order to share information and resolve any problems occurring during the night shift. Ensure that proper procedures are being followed so that store minimizes out-of-stocks.  Ensures that store security procedures are followed, including: maintaining backdoor and key control and adequate security to control shrink losses. Direct and oversee the scrubbing and buffing of floors according to established procedures       PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand for entire scheduled shift. Must be able to bend, and lift, 50 lbs.    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: Has three years’ experience in a retail food service operation, at least one year as manager.  Demonstrated interest and knowledge in food products and preparation techniques Reliable, dependable, organized.  Possesses efficient, organized work habits. Is consistently detail minded in the performance of day to day activities and has the ability to follow directions.  Basic math skills  Basic computer skills  Exemplary customer service skills  Self-motivated and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment  Must be able to identify potential situations and respond appropriately  Ability to multi-task  Dexterity in hands to wrap and package product

Requirements
