Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a busy deli, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and lead a team effectively.

Responsibilities

Assist in the daily operations of the Deli Department, including slicing meats and cheeses, preparing salads, and providing attentive customer service.
Supervise employees in tasks such as cooking, serving, packaging, and operating deli counters.
Oversee product storage, rotation, and maintenance to prevent spoilage or damage.
Assist with inventory preparation and organization.
Schedule and assign work to associates on a daily basis.
Participate in interviewing, hiring, and training deli associates.
Train employees on company policies, procedures, and sales standards.
Address customer and employee questions or concerns, supporting a smooth deli counter operation.
Ensure all staff follow company policies and store guidelines.
Support the development of sales promotions to attract and retain customers.
Confirm that all products are properly labeled with accurate pricing and dates.
Monitor stock levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
Safely operate food preparation machinery and equipment.
Receive, unload, and stock incoming food items.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
