About The Position

Arizona College of Nursing is seeking a Doctorate- or Masters-prepared higher education nursing leader to join us as Assistant Dean of Nursing at our Dallas, TX BSN campus! Requirements

  • Master’ s of Science in Nursing degree from an institution accredited by the US Secretary of Education or CHEA.
  • T hree or more years’ experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.
  • T hree or more years’ experience teaching full-time in a registered nursing program at a college or university.
  • Current unencumbered state professional registered n urs e license in the state where students are located or qualifying consortium state.

Nice To Haves

  • Earned doctorate ( EdD, Ph.D. , or DNP) from an institution accredited by the US Secretary of Education or CHEA.
  • Evidence of progressive leadership experience, including supervisory experience and prior experience with instruction, curriculum, academic programs, and the development and growth of academic initiatives.
  • Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in area of nursing specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee clinical instruction
  • Foster and maintain academic-practice partnerships with c linical p artners to ensure student access to expertise and application of practice through clinicians and faculty.
  • Conduct site evaluations and consider feedback from the core nursing team and site contacts to evaluate the appropriateness of clinical facilities and curricular experiences for the College’s curriculum.
  • Partner with the Nursing Lab Manager to plan skills and nursing lab experiences that utilize equipment to its fullest ability and prepare students for practice .
  • Manage Clinical Coordinator ( s ) to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Lead workshops to develop faculty teaching skills.
  • Informally and formally review and evaluate delivery of core nursing curriculum, e nsuring adherence to established performance standards and regulations, with a focus on leveraging current research to provide constructive feedback for growth and improvement.
  • Develop relationships with new faculty , providing resources and guidance for their success .
  • Address student concerns, complaints, and disciplinary issues in accordance with College policies and procedures.
  • Foster an environment of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the nursing program.
  • Promote student success by advising students, facilitating communication, and maintaining satisfactory relationships between students and faculty members.
  • Sponsor student associations.
  • Demonstrate scholarship in areas of responsibility.
  • Lead the delivery of assigned curriculum, set strategic goals, and ensure alignment with College -wide objectives , utilizing data and statistics related to program outcomes to engage in improvement strategies.
  • Deliver instruction for assigned workload based on campus size and needs.
  • Regularly interact with all students and p romote a student-centered approach, fostering an environment that supports the personal and professional growth of students.
  • Build a team of highly qualified faculty members, adjunct and/or full-time , fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment with regular professional development opportunities; evaluate the team’s outcomes and continuously improve team effectiveness.
  • Participate in selection of faculty, continuously evaluating selection criteria and campus needs.
  • Provide ongoing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities to faculty members .
  • E nhance core nursing team members’ skills and promote student success.
  • Ensure compliant delivery of clinical curriculum (ex. Compliant with CCNE, AACN, ABHES, and BON requirements ).
  • Maintain compliant records, including faculty files and student records.
  • Serve as Program Administrator as needed.
