About The Position

The Assistant Dean of JD Admissions at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School is responsible for developing and implementing innovative recruitment and matriculation strategies to attract and enroll exceptional JD students. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Dean, faculty, and admissions staff, to achieve enrollment goals while representing the Law School to external audiences. The Assistant Dean will oversee admissions processes, manage a talented team, and contribute to the financial aid strategies that support enrollment objectives.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree required, J.D. preferred.
  • Minimum of seven to ten years of increasing administrative responsibility in admissions or financial aid.
  • Experience in high-level admissions and/or financial aid is required.
  • Knowledge of database management, reporting systems, and predictive modeling related to law school admissions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of effective communication and marketing strategies.
  • Commitment to diversity and sensitivity to applicants from various backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Articulate and implement recruitment and matriculation goals for the JD program.
  • Develop and recommend innovative strategies for JD admissions using research and technology.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Dean for Financial Aid to create financial aid strategies that support enrollment goals.
  • Work with the Communications Department to devise effective communication techniques for attracting JD candidates.
  • Oversee the implementation of strategies to communicate the uniqueness of the Law School to prospective students.
  • Render decisions on admissions to the JD class and participate in scholarship program strategy setting.
  • Develop and implement matriculation strategies that reflect the strengths of the Penn Carey Law community.
  • Represent the Law School to various stakeholders and prepare reports on enrollment strategy activities.
