We’re seeking a visionary and collaborative Assistant Dean of Experiential Learning to lead and evolve simulation-based education within our School of Nursing. This is a high-impact leadership role where your expertise will directly influence how future nurses learn, practice, and enter the profession with confidence. Requirements

  • Active Utah RN license
  • Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Passion for experiential learning and student success

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree
  • CHSE certification (or willingness to obtain within 24 months)
  • 5+ years of simulation instruction and/or management experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead Strategy & Innovation Partner with the Associate Dean to define and advance a forward-thinking vision for experiential learning
  • Integrate emerging simulation technologies, immersive tools, and best practices into academic programs
  • Pilot new initiatives that enhance learning quality, realism, and student outcomes
  • Oversee Simulation & Skills Lab Excellence Provide operational leadership for simulation centers and skills labs
  • Guide scenario development, equipment acquisition, space utilization, and technology deployment
  • Ensure alignment with Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice™ (HSSOBP) and accreditation expectations
  • Build and Inspire High-Performing Teams Mentor simulation directors, experiential educators, and staff
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Design and deliver faculty development and training programs
  • Build strong cross-departmental partnerships to advance experiential learning
  • Drive Quality & Continuous Improvement Use data and outcomes to assess effectiveness and inform enhancements
  • Support SSH accreditation processes and ongoing readiness
  • Contribute to scholarship through research, presentations, and professional engagement
