About The Position

The Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking an Assistant Dean of Evaluation & Assessment who will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of medical education through effective evaluation and assessment strategies. This position involves close collaboration with the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs to perform essential functions such as curriculum mapping, implementation, evaluation, and student assessment. The Assistant Dean will be responsible for tracking the Strategic Plan goals and Accreditation standards, as well as developing and overseeing student assessment and evaluation systems. This role is pivotal in fostering synergistic collaborations across various departments, including Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Faculty Affairs, and Enrollment Services, to promote continuous quality improvement throughout the institution. The Assistant Dean will ensure that accreditation requirements are met within Academic Affairs, focusing on ongoing curriculum-related data collection, evaluation, and improvement initiatives. They will update leadership on data trends, quality improvement, and retention-related matters, and work closely with the Associate Dean to facilitate strategic changes in the curriculum based on outcomes data and analysis. Additionally, the Assistant Dean will coordinate with the Offices of Preclinical and Clinical Education to integrate clinical and biomedical sciences into the curriculum, lead the mapping of goals and objectives, and engage with external entities to further the curricular goals of the College. This position also involves developing and maintaining common definitions for graduation and retention rates, facilitating innovative programs for outcomes analysis, and providing analytical support for Annual Program Reviews. The Assistant Dean will analyze trends related to at-risk students and develop data-driven plans to evaluate the effectiveness of co-curricular initiatives. They will supervise the Testing Center staff, manage the department's budget, and perform other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a proven track record in data-driven retention practices, and the ability to establish effective working relationships across various levels of the organization.
