About The Position

The Assistant Customer Experience Manager is responsible for promoting excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer-focused behavior with associates. This role involves greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving concerns promptly and professionally. The Assistant Manager focuses on continuous improvement in all areas of the department and assists the Customer Experience Manager in overseeing front-end operations. In the absence of store management, this position may assume complete responsibility for total store operations. The Assistant Manager enforces cash handling controls and security measures, follows company policies related to front-end operations, and adheres to all relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities also include overseeing bookkeeping procedures, conducting audits on cashiers, onboarding new associates, and training staff to provide efficient checkout experiences. The role requires effective communication of new programs and procedures, recognition of associate performance, and participation in annual performance reviews. The Assistant Manager utilizes scheduling systems to manage associate availability and labor costs while ensuring customer service is not interrupted. This position also involves maintaining safety and sanitation standards in the store and may require assisting in other departments as needed.

  • Assists in onboarding customer experience associates.
  • Trains associates for efficient checkout experiences.
  • Implements and communicates new programs and procedures.
  • Recognizes and rewards associate performance.
  • Participates in associate annual performance reviews.
  • Utilizes the Learning Management System (LMS) for training.
  • Manages Front End associate schedules and availability.
  • Controls supply costs while ensuring adequate inventory levels.
  • Directs customer flow through the Front End.
  • Monitors breaks and lunches to ensure service continuity.
  • Oversees lot attendant service.
  • Operates front-end scanning equipment and registers.
  • Maintains functionality of equipment and reports issues.
  • Communicates promotions and sale items to cashiers.
  • Generates sales through suggestive selling.
  • Attends and participates in daily store huddles.
  • Maintains knowledge of weekly ads and store layout.
  • Oversees safety and sanitation of the store environment.
  • Keeps cart corrals and parking lot clean.
  • Follows cleaning schedules and department guidelines.
  • Assists with baling cardboard and receiving deliveries.
  • Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
