The Summit County Prosecutor's office in Akron, Ohio, has multiple openings for an assistant prosecutor in the Criminal Division. There are two classifications, a Junior Prosecutor, who will typically handle felonies of the third, fourth, and fifth degree (salary range $80,000 to $85,000); and a Senior Prosecutor, who will typically handle felonies of the first and second degree (salary range $90,000 to $95,000). The position also carries OPERS pension benefits and eligibility for federal student loan forgiveness. This is a rotating position that allows for promotion to Senior Prosecutor, Major Trial, and Supervisory positions based on the needs of the Office and the development of the employee's legal and leadership skills. The Office will also consider recently-admitted attorneys with no prior experience at a starting salary of $77,500 for the Criminal Division or at a starting salary of $75,000 with an initial assignment to handle delinquency or abuse, neglect, and dependency matters in Juvenile Court.
