The Assistant Corporation Counsel is an attorney position in the Marathon County Office of Corporation Counsel whose primary responsibility is to provide legal services to North Central Health Care—a multi-county entity in which Marathon County is a partner that delivers services on behalf of Marathon, Langlade, and Lincoln counties, and to provide legal support services to Marathon County as directed by the Corporation Counsel. Under the direction of the Corporation Counsel and North Central Health Care Executive Director, this position would provide North Central Health Care with general legal services, including contract review, risk analysis, compliance assistance, and employment law advice, with the ability to provide assistance with litigation matters as necessary. The position provides legal advice and counsel to North Central Health Care administration and clinical staff regarding legal matters, including contract review, informed consent, privacy, disclosures to law enforcement and other state and federal agencies, medical staff issues (including peer review), and regulatory rule interpretation and compliance requirements. The position may also assist the Corporation Counsel with providing general legal advice to County Departments, committees, commissions, and boards. Additional legal duties may be assigned under the direction of the Corporation Counsel. Examples of Work Performed: The following duties are typical of this position.
