About The Position

Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our growing Finance/Accounting team as an Assistant Corporate Controller. This role partners closely with the Corporate Controller and CFO to support financial reporting, analysis, and operational finance across multiple divisions, including Land Pride, Great Plains Ag, and Kubota Construction Equipment. This is an on-site position based at our corporate headquarters in Salina, KS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience; at least 5 years in a finance or supervisory role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or Master’s degree preferred
  • Public accounting experience (e.g., audit or advisory) strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and compile financial data in accordance with organizational needs and regulatory requirements
  • Consolidate financial results across multiple business divisions
  • Support monthly and quarterly close processes, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
  • Provide guidance on accounting policies and ensure GAAP compliance
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly budgets and financial forecasts
  • Administer company risk and insurance programs, including related accounting activities
  • Monitor cash position and assist with forecasting liquidity needs
  • Oversee banking programs and policies (e.g., employee credit cards)
  • Support internal controls and risk mitigation efforts
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors
  • Assist third-party tax consultants with federal and state tax filings
  • Evaluate and improve accounting processes and business practices
  • Assist the Corporate Controller and CFO with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Begin developing leadership capabilities through team support and feedback
  • Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment
  • Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment
