About The Position

The Assistant Controller at Senox Corporation is a key financial role focused on cost accounting within the Finance department. This position involves reviewing and auditing manufacturing jobs, managing plant-level costs, and collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, particularly in a manufacturing environment, and will be responsible for developing and maintaining Bills of Materials, conducting cost analysis, and supporting plant operations through financial insights.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years in an accounting position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory experience over accounting functions preferred.
  • Exposure to manufacturing departments/staff/activities, cost accounting, reporting, and variance analysis.
  • BBA in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
  • Ability to support a cross-functional plant management team.
  • Proven ability to prioritize objectives and duties.
  • Willingness to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and changing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Sound planning and organizational skills.
  • Desire to drive continuous process improvements.
  • High level of proficiency using PC spreadsheets (Excel preferred).
  • Experience working with an ERP System, Epicor a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes (bill of materials, assemblies, production rates).

Responsibilities

  • Review, audit and close manufacturing jobs in ERP system on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for plant level costs and control including cost accounting, bill of material audits, and cost analysis.
  • Work closely with manufacturing to understand issues impacting financial results and educate departments on cost drivers and variances.
  • Coordinate with Product Director on costing analysis for new products.
  • Implement all additions and changes to product lines in Epicor system as needed.
  • Perform manufacturing analysis including budgets, forecasts, and Long Range Plans (LRP).
  • Analyze actual labor, material, and overhead costs against Standard/Budget and research variances.
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials for manufacturing and ensure accuracy with Production Control.
  • Suggest changes and improvements to BOMs as needed.
  • Develop new labor and overhead rates, budget, and forecasts.
  • Perform ad hoc product/plant cost analysis to support plant operations.
  • Assist the Purchasing agent in analysis of product movement and trends.
  • Perform inventory-related cost analysis and auditing, reviewing invoices for accuracy and impact on cost structures.
