The CMD Assistant Controller's assists in all aspects of Vesta's accounting operations, including assigned corporate office financial reporting, corporate budgeting, and ensuring compliance with regulations. They are responsible for assisting in the oversight of operational accounting teams and advising the CAO and CMD Controller on financial matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, assistant controller experienced preferred
  • 5+ years leadership experience
  • Experience with the preparation of financial reports, budget preparation, and full cycle accounting
  • Experience with data management and facilitating internal and external audits
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Nice To Haves

  • NetSuite and Paycom experience preferred
  • Payroll experience is preferred
  • Occasional travel may be required

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation of accurate and timely Corporate related financial statements (e.g., income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements).
  • Working with the CMD Controller, Regional President, Vice President, and General Manager and creating and managing corporate budgets specific to their area of operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards (GAAP), and internal controls within operations.
  • Coordinating and assisting with internal and external audits of associations.
  • Analyzing financial data to identify trends, support decision-making, and optimize profitability.
  • Assisting with mentoring accounting teams.
