Arcadia is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations in a private equity-backed environment focused on scaling the accounting operating model through automation and standardization for the next phase of company growth. This role ensures the integrity of financial reporting, strong internal controls, and disciplined close processes while supporting technical accounting matters and value creation initiatives. Requirements

  • Active CPA required
  • 5+ years of Big 4 public accounting experience
  • Continuous improvement / operational excellence mindset
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition
  • Demonstrated comfort with technology and automation; experience improving processes using ERP features, workflow tools, or automation/AI to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Experience supervising and mentoring staff, including outsourced accounting support (offshore) including training, review and performance management
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Experience auditing SaaS, healthcare, and/or PE-backed companies preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, and treasury management
  • Manage three direct reports: Senior Accountant, Payroll Manager, and AP Manager
  • Lead and coordinate work delivered by outsourced accounting support (offshore), ensuring clear task assignment, quality standards, and on-time completion
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Review journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Maintain strong internal controls and documentation standards
  • Leverage NetSuite capabilities and adjacent tools to automate recurring journal entries, allocations, accruals, and close tasks
  • Identify high-ROI opportunities for workflow automation
  • Comfort using AI tools responsibly to accelerate drafting memos, variance narratives, process documentation, analytical work and building agentic process automations
  • Support M&A transactions, including due diligence support and acquisition accounting
  • Research and document technical accounting positions under US GAAP for complex or non-routine transactions
  • Draft clear, audit-ready accounting memos and partner with external auditors on complex matters
  • Evaluate proposed business initiatives or contractual arrangements to determine appropriate accounting treatment
  • Assist with post-acquisition integration for tuck-in acquisitions from an accounting and reporting perspective
  • Identify and implement scalable accounting processes by improving system utilization and automation
  • Oversee daily cash positioning and liquidity management
  • Partner with FP&A on cash flow forecasting
  • Maintain controls over banking activity and disbursements
  • Lead coordination of annual financial statement audit
  • Prepare external GAAP financial statements, disclosures and supporting schedules
  • Support annual tax compliance and advisor coordination
