The Assistant Controller will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of a fast-growing organization in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This position requires a CPA with public accounting and supervisory experience, responsible for overseeing a small team of accountants and ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.   • Manage a small team of Accountants
  • Perform sales and cash reconciliations
  • Produce consolidated monthly financial statements
  • Conduct monthly variance analysis for the balance sheet and income statement of the business unit
  • Promote and improve internal controls as needed
  • Partner with operations team to help achieve financial goals
  • Work closely with other finance and accounting departments
  • Coordinate the preparation, review, and validation of key financials
  • Provide support to external auditors as needed for annual audit
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in public accounting
  • Proven expertise in auditing practices and procedures
  • Proficiency in financial statements consolidation
  • Demonstrated ability in monthly financial reporting
  • Experience with consolidated balance sheet preparation and analysis
  • Familiarity with month-end close procedures
  • Knowledge of general ledger management
  • Proficiency in account reconciliation
  • Experience in cash reconciliations
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required
  • Proficiency in using NetSuite accounting software
