About The Position
Responsible for directing key areas of HomeStreet Bank’s (the “Company”) Accounting Operations, with specific focus on operational oversight for Financial Analysis & Operations, Tax, Payroll Accounting, Payroll Processing and Accounts Payable functions. In addition, leading key processes across all areas of Accounting Operations such as technical accounting, close management, process improvements, implementation of best practices, system implementations, ensuring deadlines are achieved, and assisting with managing the staff and Accounting Department. Partner closely with other groups, such as, FP&A, Treasury, Human Resources, Legal to support Company strategic initiatives. Assist Controller directing the financial affairs of the Company, including but not limited to, acquisitions and timely and accurate financial reporting. Maintain accuracy of the Company’s financial information through oversight of the general ledger, effective processing of accounting close cycles, management of SOX internal controls, timely and accurate financial reporting, and analysis for areas of responsibility. Contribute to the efficiency of the Accounting Operations Department by participating in cross training, sharing job responsibilities, and serving as position backup for direct reports and Controller. Develop and lead a high performing team of managers and staff through mentoring, goal setting, training, motivating, and rewarding strong performance.
