WSP USA is seeking an Assistant Consultant, Ports and Marine Engineering. This position can be based out of the following offices: New Orleans-LA, Tampa-FL, Houston-TX, and Raleigh-NC. Provides engineering support to other technical staff, engineers, and project managers for the development, design, construction, and or inspection of structures and facilities for port, marine, and intermodal rail terminal projects in the public and private sector; these facilities may include piers, wharves, port and upland marine terminals, seawalls, dry docks, marinas and other nearshore/offshore facilities. Delivers work products at a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. Your Impact With minimal supervision, assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, survey data, technical reports and drawings, and or other data matrices for project development, design, and construction. Assist with the development of project design requirements, while incorporating marine-practice engineering standards and specifications. Assist with identification of project site, design and construction related risks and providing input on mitigation activities. Write technical reports, generating complete and concise documentation of findings, using sketches, calculations, excel spreadsheets, technical drawings, and other engineering software. Prepare presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external team members as well as clients. Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work. This includes working collaboratively with other engineers and larger multi-disciplinary teams, on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects. Participate in site visits and inspections to gain practical insights into maritime construction processes. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Complete all assigned trainings. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
