About The Position

Next 150 Construction is seeking an Assistant Construction Superintendent. The Assistant Construction Superintendent performs basic labor and/or carpentry duties in the field, while also assisting the on-site Superintendent. This role is intended to prepare the employee for a transition into a Superintendent role within Gilbane.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of construction experience
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
• In-depth understanding of construction principles and procedures
• Ability to read construction drawings
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to communicate and report effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Willingness to work in high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Knowledge of Procore
• OSHA 30 hour certified

Responsibilities

• Perform general on-site labor and/or carpentry duties as needed, which may include setup and clean up tasks, including removal of debris
• Direct traffic within construction site when necessary to ensure safety of work crew
• Assist with the loading and delivery of materials
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools
• Install items related to job site safety and functionality
• Assist on-site Superintendent with coordination of trade contractors
• Assist with monitoring work to maintain compliance for the work plan
• Support all safety efforts in the field, lead safety orientations
• Attend and participate in project meetings
• Establish credibility among Owners, trade contractors, unions etc. by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environment
• Participate in a rotation supporting local Project Safety Manager(s)
