About The Position

As an Assistant Project Manager at Harris, you will provide essential project management support throughout all phases of HVAC construction. Your role will focus on ensuring project standards, budget adherence, deadlines, and effective communication are maintained. You will also manage safety compliance and foster a culture of safety within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of knowledge/experience in the building & construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.
  • Understanding of business administration and management principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management support during all phases of HVAC construction.
  • Manage safety compliance and foster a culture of safety.
  • Review, organize, and distribute contract documents and shop drawings to appropriate team members.
  • Assist in drafting, submitting, and tracking RFIs and their responses.
  • Attend field coordination meetings and distribute meeting notes.
  • Administer project-specific quality control programs and compile documentation.
  • Update progress drawings and as-built drawings.
  • Administer project closeout documentation including operation and maintenance manuals and punch lists.
  • Assist in identifying, tracking, and reporting changes to the original scope of work.
  • Maintain equipment procurement logs and assist in managing tool and equipment rentals.
  • Perform site walkthroughs and inspections to ensure safety compliance.
  • Coordinate with suppliers/vendors to estimate projects and perform basic estimating skills.
  • Track labor productivity in accounting software.
