About The Position

The Assistant Construction Manager will support the Construction Superintendent in overseeing all aspects of construction operations and site administration within SCS Engineers' Renewable Energy Division. This position involves coordinating material deliveries, managing daily reports, ensuring site safety, and facilitating communication between the field and project management teams. The Assistant Construction Manager is crucial to ensuring that construction projects run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This position will travel to various project sites for extended periods, with an understanding that travel back home will be provided once a month. The frequency of travel is expected to be approximately 95% of the time, though this may vary based on project timelines and site needs.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in construction management is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of providing project support with relevant field experience required.
  • Experience with construction site administration and processes.
  • Experience with blueprint reading, compliance requirements, and commercial construction.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to travel to various project sites for extended periods, with an understanding that travel back home will be provided once a month.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Construction Superintendent with daily site management.
  • Provide backup support as needed by stepping in to oversee operations and site management when required.
  • Track and update daily logs, construction progress reports, material delivery reports, and other essential documentation.
  • Work with Construction Superintendent and Document Control to ensure that project documentation (including daily reports, deficiency logs, RFIs, punch lists, and as-built drawings) is maintained accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, track inventory, and ensure timely availability of supplies to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinate with the subcontractors to keep the site clean and orderly. Maintain site signage.
  • Assist in the coordination of construction equipment and services (e.g., trailers, rental equipment, power, water, etc.) to ensure the site is adequately supported.
  • Participate in construction progress meetings, both internal and external.
  • Participate in site safety meetings, perform safety inspections, and work with safety personnel to ensure compliance with all company and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Maintain effective communication with project managers, field teams, and subcontractors to ensure information flows smoothly across the project.
