About The Position

Greystar is seeking a dedicated individual to support and assist the Community Manager in overseeing and managing the financial and operational aspects of the community. This role involves completing accounting and bookkeeping tasks, preparing monthly close-out and financial reports, processing invoices for payment, collecting rent, fees, and other payments, completing bank deposits, dispositions, and account reconciliations, and utilizing property management software to record, track, and report on all financial activities of the community.

Requirements

  • Experience in property management or a related field.
  • Proficiency in property management software, preferably Yardi or OneSite.
  • Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle resident complaints and service issues effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within property management.
  • Knowledge of local housing laws and regulations.
  • Experience in financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Completes daily transactions related to the financial operation of the community by collecting and posting rent, fees, and other payments, preparing daily bank deposits, and reconciling bank accounts.
  • Operates property management software (Yardi/OneSite) and completes transactions by entering all required fields correctly and ensuring system integrity through updates and backups.
  • Reviews resident files and accounting records to determine unpaid and/or late fees owed, communicates with residents regarding outstanding balances, and implements procedures for collecting on delinquencies.
  • Reviews and submits invoices from vendors, contractors, and service providers for payment, ensuring proper reconciliation and community manager approval.
  • Follows established procedures related to evictions, including proper notice requirements and representation in court hearings.
  • Processes resident move-outs by reviewing lease terms, applying appropriate fees, and processing dispositions according to legal requirements.
  • Promotes resident satisfaction and retention by addressing complaints and service issues in a timely manner.
  • Acts as the on-site supervisor in the absence of the community manager, organizing daily work and coordinating maintenance tasks.
  • Assists in managing the client/owner relationship by conducting community tours and providing performance updates.
