About The Position

The Assistant Community Manager supports the Community Manager in overseeing the financial and operational aspects of a residential community. This role involves managing accounting tasks, preparing financial reports, processing payments, and ensuring resident satisfaction while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience in property management or a related field.
  • Proficiency in property management software, preferably Yardi or OneSite.
  • Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle resident complaints and resolve issues effectively.
  • Knowledge of eviction procedures and legal requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with local housing regulations and laws.
  • Experience in customer relationship management.

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily transactions related to the financial operation of the community by collecting and posting rent, fees, and other payments.
  • Prepare daily bank deposits and reconcile bank accounts.
  • Prepare financial reports and process invoices and payables.
  • Operate property management software (Yardi/OneSite) to complete transactions and ensure system integrity.
  • Review resident files and accounting records to determine unpaid or late fees owed and communicate with residents regarding outstanding balances.
  • Implement procedures for collecting on delinquencies and enforce lease agreements to maximize revenue.
  • Review and submit invoices from vendors for payment, ensuring proper coding and community manager approval.
  • Follow established procedures related to evictions and represent the community in court hearings as required.
  • Process resident move-outs according to lease terms and legal requirements.
  • Promote resident satisfaction by addressing complaints and service issues in a timely manner.
  • Act as the on-site supervisor in the absence of the community manager, organizing daily work and coordinating maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in managing the client/owner relationship by providing updates and conducting community tours.
