About The Position

FP Movement is a continuously growing women’s activewear and lifestyle brand designed for the woman who is always moving. Our team is passionate, fast-paced, and dedicated to creating highly functional, beautifully designed apparel that supports our customer from the studio to the street. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Entry Level Colorist to join the FP Movement team at our Philadelphia headquarters. Reporting directly to the Senior Colorist, you will be a vital part of the product development cycle, ensuring that our seasonal color palettes are executed flawlessly across all fabrications. This is an incredible opportunity for a recent graduate or junior professional with a sharp eye for color to gain hands-on experience in the apparel industry. You will help manage the day-to-day color approval process, communicate with global partners, and keep our color operations running smoothly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Textiles, Product Development, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in color, textiles, or product development.
  • A keen eye for color variation and matching.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey clear, professional, and concise feedback to overseas partners where English may be a second language.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Adobe Creative Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry internships in color, textiles, or product development.
  • Background in art or design.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Colorist in evaluating and commenting on lab dips, bulk fabric lots, prints/strike-offs, and wash legs under standardized lighting conditions.
  • Maintain clear, daily email correspondence with overseas vendors and cross-functional teams to provide feedback, chase outstanding submits, and ensure production timelines are met.
  • Receive, log, and organize all incoming physical color submits.
  • Maintain a meticulously organized physical color library and ensure digital tracking systems (e.g., PLM) are continuously up to date.
  • Prepare physical and digital materials for weekly color review meetings and milestone seasonal reviews.
  • Ensure the Senior Colorist and design teams have everything needed to make final color decisions.
  • Partner closely with Design, Product Development, and Production teams to flag potential color-matching issues or delays across different fabric bases.
  • Assist the colorist in prep for special projects as needed.
