Assistant Coach
About The Position
Embark on a Journey of Impactful Adventure The YMCA is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Swim Coach to deliver a high-quality, safe, and competitive swim team program for all swimming levels. Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Competitive swimming experience or swim instruction experience highly preferred
- Must be able to demonstrate swim stroke techniques
- Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
- Any additional certifications as required by the YMCA or USA Swimming
- Physically perform all skills required of a lifeguard.
- Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility.
- Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness.
- See and observe all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Creates and conducts swim practices as assigned by the supervisor.
- Assists other coaching staff in supporting practices, meets and other team activities, keeping the program goals in mind.
- May maintain records as required (attendance, progress reports, etc.)
- Actively promotes YMCA Character Development and Core Values.
- Presents a professional image at all times.
- Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
